Who is AAKHU?
AAKHU (pronounced: ae - ah - koo) is a 23 year-old independent singer, songwriter, record producer, and musician out oF Prince George’s County, Maryland. A recent college graduate, he makes music within the confines of his basement apartment. His unique and colorful style of music draws from the strong influences of his Jamaican roots, and his extensive background in the Afro-Brazilian martial art known as Capoeira.
AAKHU’s beats and his voice, combined with his skills producing, playing guitar, and playing piano deliver a refreshing world-level sound to the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) region. Some of his most popular releases include “My Shadow,” and “Do What You Want.” On February 14th, 2021, he released his second EP titled “From a Place of Love.”
